Scandi Double 137cm Futon

The Scandi Double Futon Sofa Bed is a classic 'A' frame model, this really is the style where it all began for futons in the UK...many years ago!

For our take on this model we have opted for quality and durability to give you many happy years use from your Scandi Futon. The base is made in European redwood pine from managed forests, it is cut and planed down in Cornwall before arriving for assembly at our workshop here in Plymouth. Each section is put together in an assembly jig to ensure they are all the same and the sections are then joined with flush fit, easy fix, fasteners to keep it looking neat and tidy. Our best 'A' frame yet and featuring three supporting under-rails for maximum strength as a bed or sofa - view the video below to see how easily it converts between the two. 

The frame of the Scandi is then combined with one of our own 'tri fold' type futons, bending on the frame into the semi 'S' shape associated with this classic style. The futon mattress has top and bottom layers of pure lambswool with layers of cottonfelt in between giving a medium feel futon mattress of around 12 cm thick when new, perfect for guests or more regular use. You can then choose your covering fabric material from our selection of standard cotton drill fabrics, fire retardant free natural Panama fabrics or the lovely weave texture, durable, Oslo upgrade fabrics.

All in all the Scandi is a great choice if you are looking for a well made, strong futon for regular use that will keep its place in your home for many years.

Delivery - each Scandi is hand made by us just for you, the lead time is 14 to 21 days on all fabrics.

Assembly - the Scandi arrives in 2 sections that are joined together with simple fixings, there are also 3 small feet to attach using the same simple fixings, allow around 45 mins to unbox and assemble.
