The Scandi Single Futon Chair Bed is made with the same quality and durability as the larger Scandi Sofa. It is fully handmade in the UK, also making it a sustainable choice.
The 'A' frame model makes conversion from a chair to a bed really simple (view the video below to see) whilst keeping the classic futon look. The base is made in European redwood pine from sustainably managed forests and is cut and planed down in Cornwall. We then build the frame in our workshop in Plymouth, assembling the pieces in a jig to ensure everything is neat and tidy.
The frame of the Scandi is then combined with one of our own 'tri fold' futon mattresses, which bends onto the frame in a semi 'S' shape. The mattress features layers of cotton felt, sandwiched between a top and bottom layer of pure lambswool. This gives a medium feel futon mattress of around 12cm thick when new. This makes it perfect for regular use. You can then choose your covering fabric material from our selection of standard cotton drill fabrics or fire retardant free cotton Panama fabrics.
All in all the Scandi is a great choice if you are looking for a well made, strong futon for regular use that will keep its place in your home for many years.
Delivery - is available throughout mainland UK taking 10 to 14 days from ordering, we will arrange a convenient weekday with you.
Assembly - the Scandi arrives in 2 sections that are joined together with simple fixings, there are also 2 small feet to attach using the same simple fixings. Allow around 45 mins to unbox and assemble.
